The Latino List: Volume Two offers a unique glimpse into the vibrant and flourishing culture of Hispanic America. The film features video portraits of a cross-section of Latino notables who have richly contributed to the fabric of contemporary society, including Nely Galan, Christy Turlington Burns, Victor Cruz, George Lopez, Soledad O’Brien and Raul Yzaguirre, among many others.
The Latino List: Volume Two spotlights a diverse range of notables from journalism, modeling, politics, sports, activism and business. These prominent Hispanic Americans discuss such subjects as the childhood inspirations that fueled their ambitions, how they achieved success, the evolving American cultural landscape they helped mold, the importance of preserving a distinct cultural identity for future generations to embrace and the challenges posed by discrimination.
Nely Galán is a Latina media dynamo and women’s empowerment advocate, dubbed the “Tropical Tycoon” by The New York Times Magazine. She is also one of the entertainment industry’s savviest firebrand talents. A first-generation immigrant and self-made media mogul, Nely was the first Latina president of a U.S. television network (Telemundo). She is an Emmy Award-winning producer of over 600 episodes of television in Spanish and English, including the Fox reality hit series The Swan, and the first Latina to appear on The Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump on NBC. About the Latino List Executive Producers
Ingrid Duran and Catherine Pino are Executive Producers on the film The Latino List volumes one and two which aired on HBO during Hispanic Heritage month in 2011 and 2012. They are the owners of D&P Creative Strategies, D&P is 100% minority and women-owned and is certified as an LGBT Business by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and as a women and minority owned business by WBENC. They were also Associate Producers on the award winning film The Harvest/La Cosecha together with Executive Producer, Eva Longoria they raised funding and crafted a political strategy for the film that included a panel and screening of the trailer at the US Department of Labor with Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and Representative Lucille Roybal-Allard, author of The Care Act legislation in Congress in 2009. Additionally, the strategy included: a briefing and screening of the trailer in Congress in 2010 and a press conference to re-introduce the Care Act in 2011 and to highlight the film which reinforces the need for legislation to protect child migrant farmworkers in the US and a screening of the film in the Capitol Visitors Center.
