Powerful Speakers Headline The Adelante Movement: Tour in Phoenix

Hundreds of Latina leaders will convene at the Hispanic Women’s Conference (HWC) in Phoenix, the next stop of The Adelante Movement: Tour, a national series of live forums, presented by Coca-Cola, that bring together Latinas from around the country to inspire them to take action and to connect them with financial opportunities such as government contracts, franchises, jobs, start-up capital and corporate diversity contracts in order to create wealth and prosperity for their families and their communities. Phoenix was chosen after Adelante received hundreds of emails from Arizona women requesting the tour come to their city. The Phoenix forum is Thursday, October 11 and The Adelante Movement: Tour continues in Houston, Texas on Saturday, October 27. Watch the video.

Dr. Rigoberta Menchu Tum, a Guatemalan indigenous k’iche’ woman has demonstrated leadership at the forefront of the social struggle at the national and international scope. Rosie Rios serves as the 43rd Treasurer of the United States. She has direct oversight over the U.S. Mint, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and Fort Knox and is a key liaison with the Federal Reserve. In addition, the Treasurer serves as a senior advisor to the Secretary in the areas of community development and public engagement. She is especially passionate about supporting Women in Finance and issues of Main Street in the economic recovery.
Nely Galán first generation Latina and self-made media mogul, who was the first Latina president of a U.S. TV network (Telemundo), She is currently featured in HBO’s “The Latino List: Volume Two.” She is an Emmy Award-winning producer of over 600 episodes of television in Spanish and English, including the hit reality series “The Swan” and the only Latina to appear on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump. www.nelygalan.com.
